Maosen Zhao at LABERCA, Oniris Nantes
Maosen Zhao (DC8) has completed his secondment at LABERCA, Oniris Nantes, under the supervision of Gaud Dervilly (DC9 Supervisor) and Bruno Le Bizec (DC9 Co-supervisor). The secondment lasted from April to July 2026.
At LABERCA, he collaborated with fellow MobiliTraIN doctoral researcher Stelios Papazoglou (DC9) to generate CCS databases for 200 contaminants across different chemical classes and CCS-supported nontarget screening of PFAS-contaminated samples.
Together with experts in analytical chemistry and food chemistry, he explored the potential of ion mobility spectrometry coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (IM-HRMS) for the development of analytical methods to detect contaminants in complex environmental and food matrices.
This secondment helped expand his research expertise and experience with different ion mobility platforms, and the insights he learned at LABERCA directly support his doctoral research back at Universiteit Antwerpen (UAntwerpen). He looks forward to building on this knowledge and continuing the next steps of his research within the MobiliTraIN network.
