Olivier Verhoev at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology
Olivier Verhoev (DC4) has completed his secondment at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, Universiy of Manchester (UNIMAN), under the supervision of Perdita Barran (DC6 Supervisor).
At UNIMAN, he gained hands-on experience with the Waters Select Series Cyclic Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometer, where he worked on direct infusion with nano ESI and liquid chromatography coupling.
Working with experts in fundamental native Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry, he benchmarked instruments across laboratories and conducted various experiments on native Mass Spectrometry, Ion Mobility or Collision Induced Unfolding. The secondment allowed Olivier to gain a deeper understanding of how instrument and laboratory conditions can influence experimental outcomes and data interpretation.
This secondment has broadened his research perspectives, and he is looking forward to applying this new knowledge to his PhD project at the LSMBO in Strasbourg, France.
