Alexander Van Nuijs (PhD) is a professor of analytical and toxicological bioanalysis at the UAntwerpen. He did his PhD research in wastewater-based epidemiology (WBE) at the UAntwerpen from 2007-2012. His expertise focuses on the development and validation of bioanalytical assays to detect endogenous and exogenous substances in biological matrices, wastewater-based epidemiology, and forensic toxicology for new psychoactive substances. Assays are based on chromatographic separation coupled to mass spectrometric detection. So far, he has (co-)authored 150+ papers with >6000 citations (WoS H-index 43, https://www.uantwerpen.be/en/staff/alexander-vannuijs/publications/). He is part of the Exposome Centre of Excellence at the UAntwerpen.
“I believe that the MobiliTraIN project is the perfect way to bring ion mobility-high resolution mass spectrometry to a next level and to help it become an established technique in the future. The involvement of both academic institutes and industrial partners in the training of a cohort of researchers in MobiliTraIN is very exciting and will undoubtedly help in identifying research needs for IM-HRMS in different fields of applications.”
